India Post expands with DPWN
India - Postal services company India Post has tied up with Deutsche Post World Net (DPWN) to expand its international coverage and ramp up delivery times.
The partnership will create WorldNet Express (WNX), which will cover over 220 countries, up from India Posts's current 97 country reach.
"As India transforms itself to be globally competitive, it needs world class and reliable logistics services," India Post said in a statement.
The company said customers will be able to send documents and parcels from a post office in 21 state capitals to any of the 220 countries with a maximum transit time of four days, compared to the 6-7 days previously.
India Post estimates the international express industry in India to be valued at Rs 1,600 crores (approximately US$322 million), and growing at 20% annually.
