JDA results up on software sales
Global - Supply chain optimisation software company JDA reported better than expected Q3 sales, up on stellar software sales.
JDA said total revenue reached US$98.4 million for the quarter, up from US$93.6 million a year earlier.
Software revenues reached US$23 million during the quarter, up from US$15.5 million in the same quarter the previous year.
"Despite the current economic climate, we ended the third quarter with record software revenues and EBITDA," said Hamish Brewer, JDA CEO. "Furthermore this was the second quarter in 2008 that we achieved record software license revenues, illustrating the strength of our value proposition and a healthy pipeline."
For the nine months ended 30 September, JDA raked in total revenues of US$284.1 million, up from US$275.1 million while software sales rose to US$58.6 million from US$51.2 million a year earlier.
JDA's Asia Pacific software sales rose to US$2 million in the third quarter, up from US$1.7 million in the same quarter a year earlier. Brooks Brothers, House Foods, Mxi Technologies/Qantas and Puregold Price Club were significant wins in the region, the company said.
JDA has signed a definitive merger to acquire i2 Technologies on 11 August, a deal that analysts believe will shift the balance in the supply chain solutions market. The company expects to close the acquisition on 6 November.
