Maersk Line launches intra-Asia route
Global - Maersk and MCC Transport Singapore will launch a weekly service connecting China with Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The new intra-Asia service IA-4 will provide fast and direct service from China to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, and Jakarta (Indonesia) to Hong Kong/China, said Maersk Line.
The IA-4 promises improved transit times of at least three days at the various ports and offers direct coverage from Waigaoqiao (Shanghai) terminal, coverage of the ports in Port Klang, Malaysia and pre-weekend cut-off for exports from Shanghai, Ningbo and Singapore
According to Maersk, port rotation will take 21 days, covering various ports in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong.
The first vessel to embark on the IA-4 will be the Westertal, voyage 001S, which is expected to depart from Shanghai (Waigaoqiao) on 21 July.
