Singapore - Keppel FELS, a division under Keppel Offshore & Marine, continues to build up its presence in the global market by fulfilling its worldwide rig duties.

The offshore rig specialist is on track to deliver a second KFELS B Class jackup rig to Ukraine this month that is within budget and has a perfect safety record.

Chernomornaftogaz, an offshore development state joint stock company, has requested for the second jackup rig to be deployed, following its earlier order in May this year.

"We work with the world's leading rig builder and designer, Keppel FELS, because they have an established track record of delivering high quality rigs on schedule and within budget," Evgen Bakulin, chairman of the Board of Ukraine's National Joint-Stock Company, Naftogaz said.

Furthermore, the local company is also set to deliver ENSCO 8506, the seventh semisubmersible drilling rig to Ensco safely on time and within budget. The rig, contracted to Anadarko Petroleum, will be deployed in the US Gulf of Mexico in the last quarter of this year.

Daniel Rabun, chairman, president and CEO of Ensco, shared similar sentiments with Bakulin, saying Keppel has been "an excellent partner in delivering maximum value for us on the standardisation of the seven rigs."

Additionally, Keppel Corporation is also boosting its senior management by appointing Tan Puay Chiang, an oil, gas and petrochemicals veteran, as independent director on its Board, and Loh Chin Hua, chairman of Alpha Investment Partners, as chief financial officer of Keppel Corporation.
