NOL volume decline slows

NEPTUNE ORIENT LINES CONTAINER VOLUME APL
Singapore - Neptune Orient Lines reported a slower rate of container volume contraction for the month of July at 11% year-on-year.
According to media sources, NOL witnessed the 11% drop in container volume transported by liner arm APL in the period June 27 to July 24 to 187,400 FEUs (40 foot equivalent units) down from 209,800 a year earlier.
The average revenue from each container fell 29% from the same period last year to US$2,219. The revenue per container was, however, slightly higher than revenue per container recorded in June 2008.________________________________________________________
