SINGAPORE AIRLINES A380 CHANGI AIRPORT HKIA
Singapore - Singapore Airlines (SIA)'s A380 made its maiden flight to Hong Kong and will operate daily flights between Singapore and Hong Kong starting today.
The maiden flight carried 450 passengers from Singapore to Hong Kong on SQ856, which departed from Singapore's Changi Airport Terminal 3 at around 9.50am today. The passengers are scheduled to arrive at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) at 1.30pm, SIA said in a statement.
The superjumbo will then set off for the return flight from Hong Kong, SQ861, at 4pm and land back in Singapore at 7.40pm today.
Singapore Airlines was the first carrier to operate the A380 in October 2007. Since then, the aircraft has clocked more than 35,000 flying hours on more than 4,000 flights, SIA said.
The airline currently has nine A380s in service, 10 more on firm order and options on another six.
