TOLL GROUP     CONTRACTS

Australia - Toll has signed an agreement with Chevron Australia to manage the Barrow Island Supply Base and Logistics Services contract for the Gorgon Project.

The Gorgon Project is a joint venture between the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell, to develop the greater Gorgon gas fields, located off the north-west coast of Western Australia. The field is expected to contain resources of about 40 trilion cubic feet of gas.

The A$180 million (US$144 million) contract will see Toll managing the supply and logistics of the project through Toll Energy, which specialises in providing supply chain management and logistics services to the oil and gas exploration, construction and production industries in Australia.

The group is seemingly on an expansion strategy, and has made acquisitions in its logistics arm including Australia's Perkins Group Holdings, Deltec's Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia services, Kwikmail and Skynet. The company is also looking to growing its presence in the resources business.

"Toll intends to look at further investments and organic growth in the resources sector both in Australia and overseas," said MD Paul Little. "The resources business continues to be a strong performer for the group."
