DHL steps up security
Global - DHL Global Forwarding and Bangkok Flight Services have inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the area of air cargo security that will see the two sharing best practices on security systems and air cargo handling.
Under the joint agreement, both parties are expected to share best practices in security principles and establish standard operations procedures for air cargo handling, media sources said.
Stewart Sinclair, MD of Bangkok Flight Services and senior VP Asia of Worldwide Flight Services said, "We are honoured to be chosen by DHL Global Forwarding to participate in this initiative to prevent cargo crime throughout the supply chain. To deliver our services in the most secure and safe manner we have invested in facilities, systems, processes and our people to ensure that we create the most secure environment that meets or exceeds industry standards."
Thomas Tieber, MD Thailand and CEO of South Asia, DHL Global Forwarding said, "DHL Global Forwarding has taken additional steps to strengthen cargo security policies, which will certainly further increase customers confidence in our services. Our customers will enjoy more benefits out of this team up with Bangkok Flight Services that allows both organisations to jointly incorporate expertise to enhance security measures."
The procedures that DHL Global Forwarding and Bangkok Flight Services will be working closely on include security risk assessment, crime data analysis, infrastructure protection, pre-employment screening as well as safe and secure handling of valuable cargo.________________________________________________________
