Goodrich opens China MRO plant
China - Goodrich's new facility at China's Tianjin Airport will serve as headquarters for the company's supply chain activities in China.
The 50,000 sqft facility is expected to support nacelle and thrust reverser original equipment and other MRO activities for the region. It will also support engine buildup and podding work for the new Airbus A320 Family aircraft final assembly line in Tianjin, the company said in a statement.
The facility is an interim location to Goodrich's 170,000 sqft permanent facility to open in 2010 located directed across from the Airbus final assembly line.
"We will be able to provide Airbus with complete engine assemblies ready for installation on their new A320 aircraft assembled in Tianjin. And we will supplement our existing MRO footprint in Asia, currently centred in Singapore, to better support customers in fast-growing China."
